We assist clients in all aspects concerning the public sector. More specifically, we act for and on behalf of public authorities in the broad sense, or we represent clients in actions against them.

Some examples of our work in administrative law and public law matters include:

  • Constitutional law: advising on and disputing fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution such as freedom of expression, the legality principle, the legal certainty principle, the right to access to justice, the right to privacy, etc. We also assist in formulating pre-judicial questions or in seeking annulment in actions brought before the Constitutional Court.
  • Local and regional taxes: these types of matters lie at the interface of tax law and administrative law. We have extensive experience in drafting, defending, and challenging various types of local tax regulations, in filing objection notices, and in resolving disputes brought before the tax chambers of the courts that have jurisdiction over the matter.
  • Disciplinary law: we offer dedicated assistance in cases relating to disciplinary prosecution of civil servants, police officers, teaching staff, and students. We know the logic behind disciplinary law, and we assist both disciplinary bodies and those being prosecuted under disciplinary law. In these types of matters, we have vast experience in bringing the disputes before the Council of State and ordinary courts.
  • Study-progress disputes: we assist educational institutions, community colleges, universities, and students in disputes over exam results. This includes, if appropriate, advising educational institutions or students in internal appeal procedures and disputes brought before the Council for Disputes over Study-progress Decisions.
