Karel Schulpen helps companies in (international) corporate and commercial disputes such as complex liability matters and contractual disputes.
Throughout the years, he has developed a particular expertise in disputes relating to companies, such as pre- and post-acquisition disputes, cases on directors’ and professional liability, disputes between shareholders, and insolvency disputes.
In addition, he often represents clients in complex multi-party disputes concerning liability law and insurance law, with a particular focus on the real estate sector, such as disputes on the purchase of immoveable property (industrial, office, or residential properties) and liabilities of the various players in the construction sector (architects, contractors, property developers, suppliers, research study bureaus, etc.).

EducationKarel Schulpen obtained a Master of Laws Degree in Belgian, Dutch, and European Law, and also an LL.M. from the College of Europe in Bruges. Before joining Monard Law, Karel was a member of the litigation & arbitration department at Linklaters and Allen & Overy in Brussels and Antwerp.
